Ok here we will learn how to creat an effective template page.Ok first off you need to create a template page, you can do this by clicking file>new>template and HTML. Oknow the main region you are likely to use is an editable region, editable regions allow you to change the content inside them on the page like for example: this text is all in an editable region by doing this I can edit the contents of this page without changing the actual template. You can set up regions by going to: Insert>templateobjects and the regions will be listed there for our purposes we will be using editable regions. Ok keep in mind the only way you can type inside anything on page thats had a template applied to it is if the place you want to type is an editable region.

editable regions CAN be created inside tables and be used that way to. ok the best thing to do to create an effective Template is to create your navigation using a standard table, for learnings purposes lets put it at the top of the page.Next the best thing to do is to create a table to contain the information for your site so do that. Now that you have that set up create an editable region on the left side of the table named "text" , and then one on the right side titled "images". Now then set up your pages coloration give your template the desired colors for all your pages. you can set this up by going under modify>pageproperties. make sure you set at least your background color, text color, active links color, and visited links color.

Ok now then save your file as a .dwt file. Now go to File>new and and set up a standard HTML page. Now click modify>templates and click apply template. then select your template from the list that shows up and click ok. congratulations you just set up a page with a template, now you can type in the text editable region and put images in the images region however any place that is not an editable region you will not be able to type.
