- Kiyoharu debuted with the rock band Kuroyume (黒夢) at the age of 25. Before that he worked part time at a video rental shop, and also at a love hotel.
- He once went on the show ALL NIGHT NIPPON, which is hosted by his friend Nishikawa Takanori. Because of his appearance there, he gained a considerable amount of fans and a lot of public respect.
- In 1999, Kiyoharu formed the band SADS and was the vocalist for the band up until he went solo in 2003. SADS was immensely popular amongst rock fans in Japan, one of their most memorable songs being Masquerade.
- Kiyoharu has his own record label called FULLFACE RECORDS (フルフェイスレコード) and has signed many famous singers under his name.
