HISTORY

The lead singer Jon writes, how the current 5-piece band, started off as a three
piece band known as “chin-up”. Consisting of himself, his brother Tim, and his college
buddy. With Tim playing the guitar, Chad banging away at the drums, and Jon writing the
music. The week after Tim graduated high school the small band released their first album
dubbed “The Legend of Chin” in 1996 after Jon’s best friend Willis.
Later the band was signed be the recording studio “Charlie peachock” whicha asked
them to rethink and rename the band to a name like Switchfoot. Afterwards Switchfoot put
out a record called learning to breathe. Shortly later Jon’s old friend Jerome called
him with the news that he’d just quit his job. Jon writes, how they had been playing
shows with Jeromes band for years. So they joined forces, and consequently Jerome is now
the keyboard/guitar player. A couple years later the band released their hit album
“The Beautiful Letdown”. Then their friend Drew’s band broke up, Drew now plays as
another guitarist on the band. Resulting in the current five piece band.
