Design Goals:

  • Recognize the importance of original artwork in Web design.
  • Create a piece of original artwork for your site.
  • Add your artwork to your site.

One of the advantages of the Internet is the ability to easily share your work with others. Nothing is more satisfactory than being able to boast a site made completely on your own, and this includes the art. Original artwork is a great thing, allowing you to make design exactly as you see them in your mind, rather than relying on the work of others for you to edit.

If art was just a matter of editing others work, than there would hardly be a differance in a painting by Monet and one by Michaelangelo. (The differance is actually quite striking, when you compare them.)

In this lesson, you will have to create your own piece of artwork for your website. You won't need the skills of a master painter or designer, just some creativity and a willingless to learn how to use new graphic design tools.
