Art is a creation or expression that is appealing or attractive to the senses and has significance to the creator.  Art most commonly refers to the visual arts which includes paintings and sculptures.  However, art can also be in the form of music and literature because they also appeal to the senses.

Humans have been creating art for over 40,000 years.  The first forms of art found were cave paintings.  Since then art has been a major part of society.

There are many different genres of art.  Different genres range from romanticism to gothic to pop.  Art also varies greatly depending on culture.
