The grand canyon was discovered in 1540 by el tovar. He was a captain on an expedition. The grand canyon is about 2000 million years old. The grand canyon was made by a powerful force such as a erosion mainly by water, ice and wind. The grand canyon is by far the biggest and oldest erosion that we have had for years by earths natural disasters. The grand canyons rocks are very hard and dont even absorb water inside of it when it rains. The grand canyon soil is baked by the sun which is why the rain has no affect on the rock. The plants that grow on the grand canyon have a very short root. Not that much plant life grows there because its usually really hot and hardly rains there.Return To Top
