The Statue of Liberty is a statue that stands on Liberty Island in the center of New York Harbor, in Manhattan, New York City. It was designed by French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi.
It is actually a gift from the people of France and was dedicated on October 28, 1886.
Today you can go and visit the statue! You can take a ferry from the New York Harbor to Liberty Island and get a close up view of the Lady Liberty!
